The Location
The apartment is situated on the popular Estrada Monumental, where many 5 star hotels and restaurants, such as "Reids" (a well known colonial hotel) are located. It has wonderful ocean views, is well away from the road and is within walking distance of many restaurants, shops and banks, a taxi rank and bus stop. The main town of Funchal is about 15 minutes walk, or 5 minutes by taxi or bus.
The Accommodation
This second floor apartment is easily accessed by either lift or stairway. Inside it is fully carpeted (excepting kitchen and bathrooms) and a hallway provides access to the internal rooms, which are all a good size and very light.
The lounge/diner overlooks the ocean and is approximately 30 ft long with french doors opening onto the main balcony. There is cable TV/Video (for use with UK tapes) and a CD/cassette player.
The main bedroom has an ensuite bathroom with bath/shower, bidet etc, a double bed, bedside tables, dressing table, fitted wardrobes and doors opening onto a small balcony.
The second bedroom has twin beds, fitted wardrobes, bedside table and doors opening onto a small balcony.
The main bathroom is fitted with a bath, shower, bidet etc.
The kitchen is a good size, with washing machine, fridge/freezer, hob/oven and glass door to partly closed in balcony with washing line.
Marie and Adrian Thompson (the apartment owners) will meet you on arrival at the
apartment to greet you, and to answer any questions or queries you may have.
A welcome pack is provided.
We have compiled a portfolio of useful information which includes maps, leaflets from local attractions, restaurants to try, excursions, etc to make your stay more enjoyable.
Stunning Views & Landscaped Gardens
The well maintained gardens have the benefit of stunning ocean views. There is
access (from an adjacent restaurant) to an olympic size swimming pool, and also
you can swim in the sea and to nearby rocks. Within a few minutes walk there are
two swimming complex's.
From the balcony on the apartment you can watch the sunrise over the Desertas
islands, and later in the day you can just relax and take in the stunning views.Price & Availability
£375 to £425 per week ( €600 - €680 approx) - subject to
availability, time of year the booking is for and number of people.
The prices are per week and not per person.
Linen and towels are provided and are changed weekly.
We would request a 25% deposit at the time of booking followed by the balance six
weeks prior to the departure date.
We would prefer Monday to Monday occupancy, but other start and finish days may be available
if you are unable to get a Monday flight - please check with us for details.
Transport from and to the airport can be arranged on request.
Please note that unfortunately we are unable to accept bookings from
parties that include children under the age of 12 years old!
